Default Question about disc herniation and ADR....

I had a conversation with a friend of a friend who is a Dr(actually two doctors have told me this). He said that since I have a disc herniation in my that I would not be a candidate for ADR. He said that in order for my herniation to be removed, it would have to be from a posterior approach (due to it's size). Neither of these doctors where solicting me, they were actually offering me their opinion. Thoughts? anyone know this not to be true? Would love examples....

Is anyone more nervous about ADR than me....

I don't know about all of that, but my C6/7 level where the M6 was placed had a very large, broad and bi-lateral bulge across the posterior of the disc. A bulge is different than a herniation in that none of the nucleus of the disc has been ejected. However, you see people on forums all of the time talking about their ADR to fix a herniated disc. If neither of your friends are ADR surgeons, I would encourage you to remember what they said (they are physicians afterall), but weigh it in light of what an ADR or spine surgeon tells you.

Good luck, Jeff
