Has Dr. Bertagnoli been known to use other discs than pro disc? I know he has a disclaimer on his website saying he does, but haven't been able to find anyone yet.

When I got my quote from him, his extender said Pro-Disc. When I questioned possibly using other discs, she (I think "she".... can't remember the details) said he would consider others, but that was his preference. I couldn't afford him.... About $20K more..

I agree with the previous poster. Dr. B favors Prodiscs and will use them as the "default" - provided they work properly for your problem. On the other hand, one of his specialties is combining different devices and techniques for different levels, so, he's definitely familiar and proficient with different devices.
If you're considering him, I'd pay for some consultation time and have a real serious chat about WHY a given device is better/worse for YOU. As a side note, Dr. Bertagnoli has a team of physicians at ProSpine. The head of his team is Dr. Andrea Fenk-Mayer, who is a great spine surgeons and scientist in her own right. I've gone to her for much of my serious diagnostic work (discograms, facet blocks) as well as surgical planning. If you can't get a consult directly with Dr. B due to scheduling or time constraints, I'd consider Dr. Fenk-Mayer too. I should note that Dr. B performs all the ADR installations for the international patients. Best of Luck, Laura

If I recall correctly Dr.B helped develop the Pro-Disc? Seems to me that is the case or he is heavly invested in it. Could be wrong. I know when I contacted his office they said he would do M-6 if that's what I wanted, but that he like using Pro-Disc.
