The people that stood out for me were:

1) a stuntman (1 level M6-L)
2) a farmer (2 level M6-L)
3) a cement worker (1 level M6-L)
4) yoga instructor (1 level A-Mav)

All had returned to their previous VERY physically demanding careers and were more than a year out of surgery.

From the research I've done:

-Stem Cells are a very long way out
-Tissue engineering is even further out (Cornell = 5 years for just phase 1 human trials at the very earliest)
-Be careful with micro-d's and lammies because they create scar tissue and can destabilize the spine and rule out ADR for you down the road
-Current gen ADR's are far from perfect, but they're better than our screwed up discs
-Be careful when you bad mouth surgeons because a lot of what you hear might not be the truth!

Raj, there is also another fellow named Duane on these boards with a 2-level M6-L that is doing quite well. I'd ping him too.
why would a lammi prevent you from being a candidate for ADR? i had a laminotomy not a laminectmy where the former is only a slight removal.

Vicki,

How did your surgery go? How are you feeling now? What is your pain level? I know it's early, but are you glad you did it at this point?

I have a post in the surgical outcome section.

Thanks for asking.
