My biggest advice to those still awaiting surgery,
Once you pass your first gas you will be given a liquid meal; drink sparingly. You might be released soon afterwards so the IV will come out. The IV has been your food for the past couple of days so you will be very hungry at this point. DON'T EAT A BIG MEAL. Do yourself a favor and take it slow; eating only easy to digest food. It took me a good week before my digestive system was capable of taking a regular meal. Best Wishes, Roy
