I just got of the phone with Willie. He doesn't post here... he just doesn't have the energy. He is a great friend from another forum. Most of you know him. People who have been to my last 2 events have met him.

He has a totally occluded left iliac artery as the result of a poorly done revision surgery in October, after a poorly done ADR surgery in August. The situation is very serious. Hopefully, he'll be able to keep his leg.

Tomorrow, he'll have an angiogram as the start of a procedure that is intended to reopen the occluded artery. It may be angioplasty, it may be stent... there are other options. They've tried angioplasty once before, unsuccessfully. If this doesn't work, they'll do an emergency bypass.... a third abdominal, retroperitoneal approach since August.

If everything goes well tomorrow, on Monday he'll have an abdominal CT. He is suffering from SEVERE abdominal pain that has had him bedridden for close to 2 weeks. Wednesday brings colonoscopy and endoscopy. It is unclear what is causing this pain, but it's certainly not good.

So, whatever you do.... pray, chant, wish.... let's muster all the good karma for Willie... he needs it.

Sincerely,

Mark

Thanks for the updated Mark, we can but hold this man in our thoughts and prayers. It always reminds me of where he had his surgery done, and hope nobody goes and has a similar treatment there.
Best,
Alastair

Mark,
Thank you for the update on Willie. Upon meeting him I was struck by what a gentle and nice man he is and how incredibly he has held up with all that is going on with him. I truly wish him the best outcome with everything procedure and surgery wise he is going thru. He has my thoughts and my prayers for optimal and maximum outcome with all~

Mark,

Please let Willie know that we are praying for him through this whole ordeal--praying that the angio or stent goes smoothly without any complications.

We are pulling for you Willie!

Justin

I spoke to Willie's daughter this afternoon. They could not pass the occlusion with angioplasty. I don't have any details. More as I know it.
