Question Good, back and ugly of stem cell technology

A friend of mine is a researcher in the life sciences area. She herself has a personal interest in stem cell technology, which she’s been following for years. She shared a few links with me; the first one has interesting conversations and further references.

Default Stem Cell Trial

Hi all,

I am one of the 100 patients enrolled in the Mesoblast clinical trial investigating stem cell therapy to regenerate lumbar discs.

While I do not yet know what I was injected with, since this is a randomized, blind trial, I am more than happy to share my experiences and anything I've learned along the way. My injection was on March 29, 2012 so I'm only just coming up on the end of my third month.

I was told that if I received the stem cells the expectation is that months 3 to 6 would be the most telling.

Hi, hearing update on the evolution of your treatment is very important to all of us (and for sure for you) who have been suffering from back pain for so many years. On the one hand is great to hear about "frontier" treatments, on the other is hard to rely on biased statistics. Thanks

Did you get Mesoblast? Did it work?
