Cops with adr??

As a law enforcement officer trying to stay on full duty I'm wondering if anyone out there has had ADR surgery in the states or overseas? A lumbar fusion would end my career so ADR with an m6 is what I'm shooting for but this means overseas surgery which I have to clarify with my job. Can anyone relate?

Boxer,

There are quite a few police officers and firemen that have stopped by here; Jb88, JPJH, hayzer912, ferr37, billyboy710, JudyW, Zoticos, truck54 (and others). Some had lumbar ADR, some cervical, some neither. Some had surgery in the US and some in Europe. Some returned to work, resuming all of the physical demands inherent in those occupations; including carrying people out of burning buildings (Zoticos/lumbar ADR). I don't believe that any of them post here any more, but if you PM them, they'd probably be happy to share their experience.

Good luck (and be careful out there), Jeff

Yea I've spoken to zot very helpful. I'm now looking for anyone in the US that's gone overseas then returned to full duty. My situation is beyond complicated as workmans comp will not help w anything and will immediately close my case if I were to go overseas.

It may be worth it to consult with an attorney who specialized in workman's comp in your state.

Yea I'm just torn between treatment here which is a fusion and retirement or ADR which could mean getting my life back if it works or if not losing everything. Hatin life right now

My brother is in the same boat. He's in the army and hurt his neck. BUT he doesn't want to get an MRI because that could retire him!

Chances are though if you go with someone like Clavel, Pimenta, Dare, or even Beirstadt that it will work. I haven't heard anyone here have a bad outcome with any one of those docs. And we tend to be a very vocal lot.
