Looking for a neurosurgeon in Germay

I have been struggling with DDD for 20 years; have finally collapsed at L4-5, L5-S1 has herniated, L2-3 has herniated. Had lamenectomy and decompresion at L4-5 last September, but pain and numbness have come back.

We are currently stationed in Germany, and I am hoping to find a dr who would be able and willing to help me out. Any ideas?

I highly recommend the surgeon and klinik who took care of me in Aug.
The Klinik is Beta Klinik in Bonn and the surgeon is Willem Zeegers.

Their website is www.betaklinik.de and Dr. Zeegers' contact is www.zeegers @zeta.demon.nl

Good luck!

Was hoping to find a Dr. in the Heidelberg area; that's only an hour or so away. Internet search not very informative.

Hi Sue, did you search our board? Here's one of many:

Also, when you can, pls insert a signaure (see user CP in upper left). How are you doing?

Well, got an appointment through the Tricare laison with Dr. Peter-Michael Zink at ATOS, Heidelberg for next Monday. Hopefully, he'll have something good to say. Has anybody had dealings with this Dr?

Hi suebee, Has anyone sent you a private message about Stenum hospital? Or Dr. Bertagnoli? Both are excellent and I know at least a dozen Stenum patients personally and at least two years after surgery, they are doing very well. Dr. B is considered 'god-like' with many as well :D

Good luck with your search, and don't be afraid to get more than one opinion. In my experience, for every five surgeons, you will get six answers ;-) But every once in awhile, some of the top ones will start to agree on things, and that's when I feel I'm making progress on getting to the bottom of things.

Well, I went to Dr. Zink last Monday. You know that you're in trouble when the dr. looks at you MRI and says :eek2:. He said that he is more a neck man; called down to Dr. Feil's office, and got me in this Tuesday.

Saw Dr. Feil yesterday. He said that my spine is too far gone for ADR :bawling:, between the arthritis in the facets and some scoliosis. He recommends fusion from L3 to S1. Oh, well. It was worth a try! My first surgery is scheduled for Dec 14; the second will be about 12 weeks from then. I should have very good posture when it's all done!
