_Dear Fellow Radiophobics,

We would like to hear inputs regarding your X-ray exposures and understanding of its risks.

Regards and concerns,

Thanks for posting this, I guess--not sure I really wanted to know. Fluoro is also used for ESI's and I would guess other procedures (discograms?). And no, I was not informed of the risk of fluoro and I'm not sure I would have refused it since it makes the ESI so much safer. Since my accident, I have had an enormous number of X-rays. I have thought about the implications but can't obsess about it.

As I understand it, while fluoroscopy is longer in duration to a standard X-ray, it's much lower in intensity. I don't know how many X-rays each 30 minutes translates to, but I don't really obssess about it. Besides, with my family hx, there's little chance I won't get something somewhere along the way. I'll probably get breast cancer from a mammogram!!
