Given Dr. Rosen’s reputation, and proclivity for creating controversy, I’d say he’s very effective in the PR department. He’s been on the anti-Charite’ crusade for some time now (despite the recently published studies with long-term data) and as you read, started the “Association of Ethical Spine Surgeons.”
A few other points:
- Rosen’s business ties to Medtronic, which paid millions in fines;
- His “revision” surgical business benefits from controversy, as he gets patient referrals from articles like this (is that disclosure on his new "ethics" web site?).
