So, I'm waiting for approval on a 2 level Dynesys. In the meantime, I'm dying here. Went to Estes Park yesterday with my kids (about 30 minutes away) and had to stop 1/2 way because the leg pain got so bad. I got up and walked around to try to get it to calm down.

Back home the same thing only worse because I was on my feet - walking - but still on my feet most of the day there.

I really, really need to get to Nebraska to see my elderly (I hate the sound of that word) parents and was planning on doing that this weekend. After my trip to Estes Park I realize that making a 300 mile trip would probably take about 10 hours if not more having to stop so much. And, once my get irritated and start to bother me, there's no getting away from it that I've found.

I said all of that (sorry!) to ask this . . . . Any ideas from ANYONE on how to cope with this and get comfortable to get to Nebraska before my surgery. I wanted to go before because I'm not sure when I'll be able to travel after. My dad has emphysema and is not well. I NEED to get there.

Thank you!

Red, some people have good results doing traction -- of all different kinds -- as a temporary measure. Did you see the topic on this? Traction, inversion, chin-up bar hanging, etc.?

Hey Red,

I did a quick search for the FAQ I put together. I can't find it, so I'll fix that issue.

In the meantime, here's one of the many topics on traction, which may help...
