Alastair,
We've been having a heat wave as well in Southern California with humidity which is not common for this area.. my pain meds make it even more intolerable it seems ~
Thanks for the heads-up for peeps on the weather.. seems like it's all over the place as the US is having similar type of heat waves, esp. in the mid west~ (for anyone planning a summer trip to the States)!

The pleasure of the warmest year in the US (and perhaps in Europe) ever in recorded history. http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif

Alastair,
You can thank my daughter for taking our good Aussie weather with her. She's been travelling Europe and the UK, currently working in Salcombe, lovely Devon.

I think there is a global heatwave! Oh no, it reached 100 degrees F yesterday, just 30 minutes from Monterey Bay. We don't have air conditioning here because it's usually so moderate. As I watch the British Open, it looks sweltering there as well. These warm temperatures may encourage some members to begin water therapy. http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common.../icon_razz.gif

At least we don't need a hot sauna/whirlpool.

This is probably a bad thing to say, environmentally tho if I end up in Europe for spine surgery in the winter, I hope it will be warmer during that season as well..

Meanwhile, I wish this heat would let up.. real draining. Tho I think it's not so bad with the spine~

By the time I can afford surgery, Dr. B. will be in Greenland.

I can feel the cool fog air creeping in tonight - what a relief. Temperatures to 107 - with humidity, this was unreal. I drank an ocean amount of water in the last 10 days anymore I would have drowned.

Sounds like a typical Aussie Summer hey Cathy!
