Booked with Clavel. Need Hotels.

I'm happy to say that I am booking with Dr Clavel for March 6th. 2 levels ADR. I'm concerned with finding a hotel within walking distance to the hospital. My husband will be staying alone until I get released. I would prefer him to walk back and forth. Yolanda gave me 2 names..... the Gallery and AKO. Do any of you know if these both are within walking distance?

you will do great. Ako is where i stayed. Far from hotel but convenient to downtown sites and eating places. But noisy and no on site kitchen for room service. People were nice but overall not worth the price. I think you want to look at Catalonia Park Guell, Aparthotel Bertran, or anything around Park Guell or Vallcarca metro stop if you want to walk to Quiron. In fact, some folks have rented apartments and have gotten far larger and cleaner space for less money than a hotel.

Catalonia Park Guell. Relatively cheap and 5 minutes walking distance. I stayed there.

I will check these options out. Thanks. I also heard that during your stay at any hotel they have the right to change your rate, to a higher one , at any given time. Have you heard about this? I believe I heard that this usually take place if there's a big convention in town and they are staying at the hotel.

i haven't heard this. I also doubt that they will screw with you if they know you are a patient of Clavel. Too much business to risk losing. But consider the apt option if there are two of you. I traveled alone and still wish I had gotten an apt.

I doubt it very much. I booked and paid in advance via Expedia and everything was tip top.

Hotels of course have the right to change rates on you... But I never in my life experienced this even once after I already paid...
