Okay, obviously I know not what I need to do to pay for the surgery, and hear the terms Euros. and International creditors mentioned, and to top it off I have Dyscalculia (look it up on the net) basically a learning disibility in relation to numbers and how to utilize them, I need help in how to transfer US dollars into Euros? where do I do this? I wired some money for my second opinion to Zeegers but they never got it and my credit union did not understand how to wire the money to begin with, (they are morons) they kept asking for a route number. I gave them all the information possible that was provided to me by alpha klinik... so what happens...they lose my money, I certainly do not want to go through that again.

Be aware that the conversion % is the amount used for "millions".....the rate is actually a little higher for amounts less than $1M (however it will give you some idea of the cost). Your bank should be able to provide you with the accurate exchange rate.

I would have thought that your banks would do currency exchange for you?

I paid for all my ADR at the Alphaklinik on my credit card. I had to increase the limit on it of course but the Alphaklinik were happy to have credit card payments. It could be a good idea to e-mail the finance administrators at the Alphaklinik to see if that is still possible? However the dollar taking a dive at the moment it could be a good idea simply to buy Euros straight from the bank

So when Alpha Klinik sends you the estimate is it actually more? It was listed at around $18,000 plus extra $1,000 for back brace more for extra MRI, which is what I hear other people spending for Charite. I asked my friend this... she use to live in Germany and said that they would have sent it in US dollars.

yes, 18000 quote would have been in Euros. And since the US Dollar has been pretty crappy it takes about $1.35 US Dollars to purchase 1.00 Euro right now. Prob. even as much as $1.40 to buy a Euro. The quotes that we get from Europe are in their currency. My surgery was quoted for about 30,000 Euros and it ended up costing me about $38,000 US dollars becuase of exchange rate. Didn't include flights or hotel either. I was a 3 level but not of Dr. Zeegers so prices differ.
