My recovery is going amazingly well. had a Lumbar S1/L5 replaced on 28th of July. Now 11 weeks later I am planking, using treadmill, doing pilates, gardening and best of all went for a horse ride on the beach yesterday which included cantering. My horse is big and I am little so its a good test of my back. No meds and no back pain yesterday or today. I am off all meds associated with my disc.
thanks Robyn |

Congrats on your recovery. If you don't mind maybe you could tell us a little bit about your pre op symptoms and your surgeon etc?
|
welcome
Awesome to hear you're doing so well Robyn. Don't over do it! More walking and less garden stuff ;o)

Hi There,
I used the ONZ Clinic in Germany. My Doctor was Dr Bierdstadt. I had L5S1 replaced. Using a Spinal Kinetics disc. previous to surgery I had had approx. 2 years constant pain, On MRI disc was sticking out 20x2x5mm into Right Sciatic nerve. There was severe disc degeneration. IN NZ I was told fusion was the only way for me. I felt the German model was the way forward for me. At 12 weeks post surgery I am riding my horse walk Trot and canter. Tried gallop but a bit much. I am gardening, using farm equipment such as quad bikes and mowing and harrowing gear. Need quite abit of core strength for those activities. Back is completely free of nerve pain at times I get abit sore but that is when I have over done it. Really successful for me. Robyn |
Congrats on you Robyn!
