Surgery seems the only option

I have severe stenosis at c4/5, c5/6 and moderate at c6/7. Surgeons here at UCSD has suggested that I do C4-6 fusion with cadavar & cage. They think I should do it ASAP as opposed to taking my time.

I have upper-back pain (three inches below my neck).. Can it be coming from Cervical or it can be thoracic. I also have lower back pain. They do not want to do MRI on lower back because they would not operate on that.

Can ADR be an option for severe stenosis? Does ADRs fuse if someone has Osteophyte?

Sukhre,

Of course we're not doctors, but I can say that every pathology that you've listed has been treated by ADR on members of this board. I would encourage you to get an evaluation from an ADR surgeon. Non-ADR spine surgeons tend to immediately dismiss ADR. If you're not a candidate, then you're not a candidate; but only an ADR surgeon can make that determination.

Good luck!

Instability

Hey There!
I was told to fuse because I may have instability which is where the vertebrae are loose. So I would demand to ask why you need a fusion and for them to show you on your films why you need a fusion and not an artificial disc(s).

Get multiple opinions, is what I would do.

Hope that helps.

Tom
