Hello,
I've been lurking here on the board on and off for about 3 months now. I've been meaning to introduce myself for a while but things have been pretty hectic around here and time just hasn't allowed me to do so.
Well, my saga began back in 1995 when I injured my back while lifing drafting tables at work. I didn't have too many back issues until I fell flat on my back on ice in 2001. And then to complicate matters, I was involved in an MVA in 2002 where I was rear ended while sitting in traffic.
In the end, I was diagnosed with a bulging disc at C4-C5 with radiculopathy and a bi-lateral tear at L5-S1 also with radiculopathy. I had an IDET procedure last August as well as a percutaneous discectomy which seemed to help somewhat. However, there are some days where I feel I am exactly where I was before the IDET and sometimes worse. Could have been the fact that I moved 2 weeks after the "surgery" and was dealing with the stress of buying & selling a home.
My doctor has suggested the ADR for the L5-S1 level which I'm still up in the air about. So while trying to find information about this procedure, I came upon this board and have to say it has been a Godsend. I've been trying to decide wether or not this is the right procedure for me. I've been the physical therapy route as well as having injections and neither has helped. At 31 years of age, I still have a lot of living to do and to consider this major surgery is freaking me out.
I was hoping that there was a list of doctors in NY who perform the ADR replacement that someone could forward to me. I would appreciate it very much. Enough of my rambling....lol. I look forward to hearing from the folks on the board and wish everyone all the best! http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif Karin

Hello and Welcome to the group!

There are several different types of ADRs but the Charite is the only one currently FDA approved. Here's the link to find a Charite doctor...

Karin

Welcome! http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif Glad you finally found us.

Your best bet is to be proactive for yourself and read the FAQ's (bottom right pulldown menu) and use the search engine (top right) to search out all the information you seek, which is already on this forum. Then, if you have specific questions which you can't find answers to, post them and we'll be happy as clams to help as much as possible.
