New Intro Thoughts and Queries

Hi All
Great to have a support forum such as this.

I am 43 years old and always been physically active. In general good health.

I have suffered since 2016 with chronic low level back pain. I recently had an MRI, and the l4-l5 disc is degenerate, dehydrated and markedly narrowed with severe endplate irregularity and widespread type 1/2 modic changes on both sides. The disc has an annular bulge, with small marginal osteophytes; mild hypertrophy of facet joints. l5-ls1 moderate disc degeneration.

The pain i experience is manageable but constant. I feel bruised. Its worst in the morning and the sleeping position seems to put pressure on it. I have a lot of stiffness and am unable to do weight bearing activities without feeling it. I have tried all forms of exercise, stability training, as well as injections.

I am based in the UK, London. I am interested in ADR and comforted by the post outcomes I have read. Do any members know of expert surgeons based in London or the UK?
Are members aware if the endplate damage will prevent being a candidate for adr?

Thanks

Stephen

Stephen,

The surgeon is the one who will decide if the modic changes are too severe to warrant disc replacement. Have you been worked up for Lyme disease or other infections? See this (and others) topic:

Also, when you can:
