you would barely know about Zeegers existing there by reviewing website. Kind of strange. Why is that?

I think that the website is not completed yet, if you go on to the "Guided Tour" it starts in English and then goes into German and then goes back into English. There is Zeegers image when you open up the site alongside the other surgeons. He is the one with a chubby face and with a very bored I look on his face waiting for the photographer to press the button -- -- --lol http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif

I don't think Zeegers is a physical director there, he just contracts in, he does work at another hospital in Holland during a different part of the week I think. It will be nice when they get the website completed

in actual fact, Zeegers is one of the star players at the Alphaklinik, I think that they just have not got the website finished, and when they do then he will shine all his glory. They have got him is only having done 700 ADR as well when in actual fact they have announced his having done a 1000 and having done 1200 in separate mailshots quite a while ago. I think the website is just in its infancy and will get sorted out in the not too distant future.

I did make a comment to Dr Zeegers about this today when I was e-mailing him about the questions and answer session with him that we are about to do.

Good. I was just checking out the site. I tell people about him and Bertagnoli all the time when discussing overseas ADR and would hate to point them to a website and then they have a hard time finding his information.

This is from the Alphaklinik web site which is being built as we speak. This is about some of their new equipment which they have just bought. Can people understand now that x-rays are better usually at the Alphaklinik in their own hospital. The site is worth exploring.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) enables the exact diagnosis of spine problems - using magnetic waves that cause no harmful radiation whatsoever. The new EUR 1.2 million Siemens machine in Drs. Dekkers' practice is capable of a much higher resolution than other MRI machines. Its field strength of 1.5 tesla, together with the quantum gradients, make it a top-class machine worldwide.

The combination of a highly specialised examination team and personal consultation with the surgeon represents a major advantage for the patient. During the imaging process the doctor can, via the MRI control console, specify exactly which area he would like to view with an even higher resolution. Patients are welcome to try out sitting in the machine (whilst listening to music of their choice via headphones) prior to the examination.

I'm glad to know that somewhere in the world you can get a decent diagnostic, although it won't do me any good here in the US. I researched MRI machines and protocols in the US and here's what I found.

- the machines are the same (latest and greatest 1.5T Siemens or GE)
- in the US the doctor orders 'lumbar MRI'
- the machine settings for 'lumbar MRI' are specified by protocol
- the lumbar MRI resolution isn't that good because it's been decided that high resolution isn't needed for the lumbar spine

Anyway, the doctor gets what he gets. Could he write an MRI order and specify a higher resolution? I've never heard of this happening. Would insurance pay for the additional cost? I don't know.

That's what I learned before having a post-ADR MRI last year. If you know otherwise please do tell.
