Hi,
Which current ADR Clinical Trial studies in the US are being offered free of charge to the patient where the discs and the surgery costs are being paid for by the manufacturer. |
Spotty, in most (if not all) trials, the device is donated and there is no cost to the patient. In some, where the patient is obviously qualified based upon the selection criteria, the surgical and professional costs are also covered.
It really depends on the trial though; I had the Charite implant within the FDA trial in June 2004 and had to figure out how to cover ALL the charges except the device. I fought "Blue Corpse Blue Sled" and won. Here's a link to most of the ongoing trials, you have to call each one for now to check on costs. See here. |
Thanks for the reply and information.

If you enroll in the Kineflex clinical trial (SpinalMotion / Texas Back Institute) the surgery and the ADR will be paid for. You will have to pay for the doctor's appointments, back brace and any other lab work or tests needed. Typically you can have you primary physician order the tests and the results can be sent to TBI.

I got a PCM disc through a clinical trial last July. I didn't pay anything--except some weird $200 bill for basically doing an autopsy on my bad disc. Apparently, the study forgot it and the forensic guy was threatening to hurt my credit.
So, PCM disc for $200. Not a bad deal. http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif |
Thanks Fritz,
It's good to hear that these are being paid for. Not good they threatened your credit. |
