Dr Pablo Clavel and m6L discs

Hi to everyone!

I live in Germany and as all of you in this community have a problem with my back, a disc protrusion L5S1. I have been living with a shooting pain in the lower back and in the right leg for the past 9 years. No exercises help me unfortunately, only painkillers.

I have been researching an option of an ADR surgery and now choosing between m6L and LP-ESP discs. But all doctors (not surgeons) I have spoken to about this surgery so far trying to tell me off this idea... they tell that artificial discs don't end up well in the lumbar spine and that it's very dangerous.

I have come across this web site recently: Dr. Pablo Clavel

and now have serious doubts about the surgery... now I can walk at least, what if this surgery will make me paralyzed... or all this campaign against this doctor and m6 is pure fake in order to promote ESP disc, I don't know =(

Please, share your thoughts!

Thanks in advance =)

Phil, sorry you did not get any replies. Did you search the forum using the advanced search -- for the ESP disc? See:

https://www.adrsupport.org/forums/search.php

There is a ton of information on Clavel. These posts go back to 2004, when I started the forum.

My thoughts

Dr. Clavel was fantastic for me. Super nice man, and Olga was the sweetest. I feel like I know her even though we haven't met. The M6C is a wonderfully engineered disc for 2 level cervical but without a fusion or hybrid. I think the jury is still out on its durability in the lumbar.
There is negative outcomes on almost every surgeon here. Complications and risk can happen with any surgeon that is outside their Control.
Dr. Schmitz in Dusseldorf can use the M6 I believe, but he leans towards the ESP. My revision was extremely complex and Dr. Schmitz had to close a spinal fluid leak. Excellent surgeon and care.

And might I add...

Bel Etage Clinic was really a nice place to recover and I thought the food was outstanding.

You might also contact Dr Disai. I am not sure of he uses the ESP, but he is a very well liked doctor on this site. He is also in Germany.

Dr. Desai definitely implants LP-ESP's and CP-ESP's. Definitely one of the people to consider. You won't find a nicer doctor.

If you don't mind me asking how did you contact Dr. Schmitz?

Thanks,

Karger
