I spoke with a helpful billing person at a doctor's billing office about the availability of NEW CPT codes that ALL carriers use (e.g., Medicare, Insurance Companies) and she offered this statement:

"As of 1/1/05 there's a Category II code for ADR's. Category II codes are used for emerging technology and data collection and usually turn into a CPT code."

Here's an excerpt:

0090T Total disc arthroplasty (artificial disc), anterior approach, including diskectomy to prepare interspace (other than for decompression) single interspace; cervical Released Jan. 1, 2005 implemented July 1, 2005

0091T Total disc arthroplasty (artificial disc), anterior approach, including diskectomy to prepare interspace (other than for decompression) single interspace; lumbar Released Jan. 1, 2005 implemented July 1, 2005
