Well, I'll be treking into Manhattan tomorrow morning to get a second opinion about the ADR surgery that my surgeon has suggested I have. Needless to say, I've got a case of the butterflies. I'm just hoping that I don't forget to ask him any of the important questions. http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common...s/icon_eek.gif I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It took me years to find a doctor who actually believed I had something wrong with my back. I'm hoping that this doctor will believe me too.

Hi Karin,
well you'd be a very strange person if you didn't feel nervous about things when talking about major surgery. I would strongly suggest that you write down the questions on a piece of paper that you want to ask the doctor, and make sure you take it with everything else you need, plus a pen to jot down anything he says. Also Karin, how about another person who can take notes as you listen. And a trip up Metro North to Dr. Yue in New Haven. http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif
Good luck, ans |
Survey says.......I am a good canidate for the ADR surgery. That's 2 spine surgeons that have agreed now. I found my list of questions that I asked the 1st surgeon to bring with me. Unfortunately, Dr. Kuflik has only done 10 ADR's. I also have the misfortune of having a WC injury which wasn't resolved before my MVA. :::sigh::: So now we try & figure out if NF will pay for it. But after 4 hours on trains & subways, & 3 hours sitting in a classroom, I guess we can worry about that another day. http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common.../icon_wink.gif Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post!

Hi Karin,
Isn't it a great feeling that a doctor says you're a candidate? I just got the same news from Dr. Zeegers, and am awaiting the same from Dr. Bertagnoli. It really does give you a better outlook. Nanci |
