Boxer,
Condolences on the spine problems, but welcome. You'll find a lot of experience here. Though I had cervical problems, before my last surgery I was having numbness and tingling in the gentiles. As you're aware that is very alarming. I never developed any sexual disfunction or incontinence. With the exception of my left hand still being mostly numb, all symptoms were gone when I woke up in surgical recovery. If you end up having surgery, hopefully the same will be true with you. Be aware that waiting too long for surgery sometimes results in permanent nerve damage. Some people suffer for 20 years and have no permanent nerve issues after surgery, and some (like me) incur permanent damage after only one symptomatic year. Good luck, Jeff |

I can only assume you mean some form of ED, which, clearly, as a woman, I cannot relate, but I can say that oftentimes the pain alone keeps me from fully engaging. I can't even imagine if I had to try to keep it up! Yikes! I really hope you can find some relief soon! |
Thx guys I appreciate the support. My symptoms are absolutely mind boggling and in my opinion are borderline cauda equina which includes burning penis and erectile problems loss of morning wood etc. still docs r lost telling me maybe it's prostate which I've had checked 10 times!!!! Has anyone spoken to clavel about their problems before sending info?? Thx a million site is a true life saver!!:uhoh:

American doctors don't know :censor: about spine stuff compared to European docs. If I had listened to my US doc, I would have ended up with a laminoplasty to relieve the pressure on my spinal cord because I have "too much" ossification for an ADR. Dr. Clavel can do it just fine. If they keep telling you to check your prostate and you have done it and everything is fine it is time to go talk to Dr. Clavel (or whichever Euro doc you choose).
I am freaking out right now because my US doc told me I need a fusion of L5-S1 because the facet joints are too arthritic. I did the same thing when another doc here told me the ossification on my C-Spine was too far gone to do an ADR. Turns out it was completely unnecessary. Point being, I would wait to see what "the experts" (in the words of my stateside doc) say. I would imagine if incontinence can be caused by L Spine injury, so can ED, etc. I hope you get answers soon! |
Boxer,
I don't recall the names of the posters, but lumbar related genital issues have been mentioned a few times in these forums. I don't recall anyone giving a post on the resolution of those issues after surgery. The search feature should turn something up. Jeff |

Depending on your financial situation, there are ways to force things to move faster, not the least of which is to get an appointment with Clavel or someone else overseas to get something done and get the MRIs and work-ups over there where you have fewer steps between yourself and the diagnostic tests. |
You guys are so right! I've read tons of stuff regarding ED problems and lumbar herniations. I have small central herniations which are pushing straight back into my cauda equina nerves. But docs her cant understand me. I literally woke up w burning penis pain and crazy urination and loss of controll over me external urethral sphincter which has returned but other symptoms still present. Does anyone have clavels email? Thx guys appreciate responses
