Greetings

My name is Steve Marsh and I wanted to introduce myself to the forum. Here is my history:

-- 1985 - 2000: history of low back problems, generally managed through exercise, rest and bodywork

-- 2001: two L5-S1 discectomies, with good pain relief

2002-2004: Generally did well. Continued to have some minor low back pain, helped by Viox, a couple of epidurals in 2002. In 2003 and 2004, I began doing Yoga extensively, four to five days per week, and was feeling strong.

January 2005: Onset of serious low back pain, worse at night when lying down and in the morning.

February/March three epidurals; no pain relief
April facet injection no relief (seemed to make it worse)
May Discogram. Shows severe degenerative disc disease at L5-S1. Other levels okay.

Other background: I am a sports masssage therapist and have been able to do a couple of massages per day. I am no sure how much longer I will be able to do so.

I am 46 years old, married, and have a 4 year old son. We live in Portland, Oregon.
