My research indicates that Aetna is the only US private insurance company that has endorsed ADR and will pay for it - currently.

I have several insurance co. choices with my employer each new year. Fortunately my emloyer does offer Aetna as the "top=tier" plan (PPO-expensive). Unfortunately, last year I enrolled in a more inexpensive plan with UHC in which my pain management co. participates.

I have a very promising job prospect coming up (they have no idea of my back problems-of course).

Question: What are the other insurance companies in the US that have offered to pay for ADR ? My decision on this new job may depand on it, i.e., be miserable, in chronic pain, working for a company I hate until the end of the year and them switch to Aetna or take the new job and keep my fingers crossed that things are gonna change in the next 12 months with regard to insurance reimbursement.

Of course, the obvious question to ask my prospective new employer is "Which insurance plans do you offer ?)Which I will do. But, I still need to know if there other Ins. Co's beside Aetna at this point that will pay.

Thanks,

Stevo

Stevo, Blue Cross PPO paid for my cervical 3 level prodisc surgery even though I was in a trial.

Stevo,
Blue Cross did not pay for my 3/4 'legal' Charite?????.

Please understand, insurance companies are required by law to hire only graduates with advanced degrees in 'Moronics' from the very prestigious USI (University of Stupidity and Idiotics)

FOR LEGAL PURPOSES ONLY, IF ANYONE FEELS THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS SLANDEROUS, I DO HEREBY RETRACT IT!

ROFL I have coem to the same conclusion as you many times as I have pulled out hair and turned grey dealing with some of these people!
It is a shame we have to go through all this to get health care

Steve
Do a search above and put in insurane companies providing coverage and you will get some info. Also check out the ADR surgery board and go through the posts to see who has gotten their ins to cover their cases.
I have a list made up that I searched and got for our insurance company and included with my appeal.
Needless to say it did not convvince them as I am appealing again for medical necessity. SIGH

Dale, Primary Physician Care out of Charlotte, NC approved my Charite Surgery. I haven't had it done yet, my appt. is Oct. 18th with a neurosurgeon in Charlotte who has experience with Charite's. I live in Asheville, NC. Also, there is a list of insurance companies that Kim Leach compiles. You've probably found it by now. Hope this helps! Kim
