Well, I can't afford it but what is a few hours of sleep worth to you?
After too many nights of 1-2 hours of sleep because of stiffness, or numb hips, or sore shoulders, etc., I have finally pulled a trigger I have been wanting to pull for a long time. I don't know if it is all its cracked up to be, but I will have 90 days to try it out. Anyone else have one they would like to comment on? Also, the above mentioned numb hips are really driving me crazy at night. You would think that it would be the hip that I am laying on wouldn't you? Nope, just the opposite. When I lay on my left side, my right hip goes numb and when I lay on my right side my left hip goes numb...go figure. Does anyone else have this phenomenen? |
Please let us know how you do with this bed, I've got to shop mattresses and contemplated trying this one~

If you are a side sleeper, try a small pillow between your two knees. This helps straighten out your hips and helps align the spine.

Costco sells the Temperpedic Mattresses and pads now also....
I agree w/ Cervie Queen, I bought a high dollar mattress with the "temperpedic" type foam built in the pillow top, didnt see much of a difference. Sleeping with the pillow between my knees seems to help more than the matress did.... I'm a side sleeper also.... John Greensboro, NC DDD L5-S1 Awaiting Ins. Appeal for ADR Surgery |
I agree with side sleeping and pillows between legs and to support the upper shoulder. Although, I have had a Temper for four years now and would not give it up for anything! I love it. Take care, Dano

The small pillow which is referred to by cervie queen is known as I thigh pillow. It stabilises your pelvis whilst you are asleep and costs about $10

I have one and would not trade it for anything!
hope you love it too bee |
Yea...I do the pillow between the legs thing, have for quite some time.
I also have the Temperpedic imitation topper on my present bed. It seemed to help some, but I don't think the foam is the same as Temperpedic nor do I think they are thick enough. Next Thursday the real deal will be arriving at my door...can't wait. http://adrsupport.org/groupee_common.../icon_razz.gif |
I finally broke down and bought a temperpedic pillow ($93 including shipping on Ebay).
It takes a little getting used to laying your head on something that feels like an undercooked banana bread, but after the first morning you'll wake up and realize how comfortable it is... it's worth getting used to. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and love it. Mark |
I think at CostCo they sell the temperpedic mattress cover that lie on top of the bed for around $100. Might be a good investment for topping off a bed that is still firm or good but needs some help being made more comfortable (for anyone that doesn't have the $ to buy the whole new bed)~
