Now that my ADR surgery is potentially right over the horizon, I wonder if now would be a good time to get a new laptop (?), since my current laptop is 5+ years old.

I was thinking that it might be nice to have something farily light and portable that I could use directly after surgery.

I see that Dell is trying to clear out its inventory of Core Duo laptops, presumably to start selling the Core Duo 2 laptops that are right around the corner.

That being said, the E1405 and E1505 look pretty reasonably priced, but the one downside that I see is that they aren't the lightest thing in the world (5-6lbs).

Has anyone bought a laptop recently and/or have any recommendations?
