I hope you're keeping a daily record of your blood pressure readings and I would call the doctor's office if you're concerned to let the doc know what is going on.
It sounds as tho you had a wham bam thank you Ma'am visit and your meds weren't explained to you nor your condition of elevated BP/hypertension.
I agree that pain and stress elevate BP tho you may not be on the right combo of meds that will work for you so call the doc's office if you haven't already. The Beta Blockers will kick in and work for you tho not all people respond to them the same way~ there are alot of BP meds out there and different ones work a bit differently depending on what your identified medical situation or source of hypertension might be.
Call the doc's office tomorrow if you're still concerned and do not feel like you are being a pain~ that is the job of a good doctor, to accurately define and treat the patient's symptoms and condition..
