There may be some interesting developments over the next few years as this relates to artificial discs. We have seen evidence that subsidence of devices occurs more often in women because of differences in bone densities (at least anecdotally, as seen on this forum). This may account for differences in next generation designs, which have convex endplates. Alas, time and data will connect the dots…
