Update: I was told this morning that they don't know if it's a virus now or an infection. They're filtering his blood and that seems to be helping a little. He's still on life support though.
As for Dean, not only is he having to face the stress of his upcoming surgery, he lost a lifelong friend a few weeks ago and now may lose his brother-in-law. We just need to get him to his surgery, healthy, because he says laying around in pain with all of this going on is the worst way to deal with things, for him.
