I would say right now I have good days and bad. It is difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of my particular surgery, I believe, because most people are not as hard on their backs on a daily basis as I am (working as a poker dealer). Every dealer I work with has some degree of back pain. I went back to work less than three months after my surgery a year and a half ago. If I could get another job (working on it!), I believe I would have very little back pain (%20 pre-surgery). I start to recover on my days off, then by the end of the work week I am up to about %80 of pre-surgery pain.
Overall I am better, and happy to still be working. Hopefully, at some point I will be pain free through a new job, excercise, and eating right--six months?!
p.s. I would also say the pain is mostly the same, in the same area......
