I had the IV Boniva several weeks ago. I had been on Forteo for almost two years when another one of my doctors strongly suggested the Boniva IV. I was for it because the nightly Forteo injections are a nuisance.

I have uveitis and Fosamax caused the uveitis to flare so I stopped and was switched to the Forteo.

My doctor assured me that Boniva did not cause uveitis. Several days after I got the shot I noticed the uveitis was back. The doctor who had me on the Forteo was furious that the other doctor switched me to the Boniva and put my vision at risk. What a mess.

If you are thinking about the Boniva IV do a search on Boniva side effects because the effects last for three months.

I'll go back on Forteo soon and will not have another Boniva IV..

According to my doctor Forteo can be used for longer than two years.

Fosamx and Boniva are in the same class.

I will be interesting to see if the nasal spray is as effective as the shot. I wonder if the nasal spray has to be refrigerated, as the shot
does?
