I spoke to one of the top US ADR surgeons today. He says that Medicare will have a code for ADR in January. This implies that they will be paying for the procedure, but it is still unclear under what circumstances, and how much they'll pay. With the cost in the US of over $11,000 for the prosthesis, compared to 2 or 3 grand for fusion hardware... it's going to be a tough battle. First, it may be paid for within clinical trial guidelines, but that won't help my dear friend Cervie Queen at all.
