Most of the major ADR surgeons agree that prior to having any dental treatment, in order to ensure that bacteria do not invade the site of your surgery, they suggest that you should have a single dose of antibiotics prior to dental treatment of any nature.

Even when you just simply clean your teeth, you send a host of bacteria into your bloodstream, the single dose of antibiotic that you take covers you over this "risk time" when in the dentist's chair, even if this is only for a scale and polish.
