We all can certainly relate to the frustration at not being able to do the simplest things, and speaking for myself it's probably 'THE' motivating factor towards having this surgery, far more so than the pain itself.

Looks like you've taken a mental step towards the OR, which is evolution in itself. 'Freaked out' is also something we can understand!
