Your symptoms sound quite debilitating and definitely warrrant further intervention, but as you said ...what...?
Just a thought ... 9 weeks ago I had my second lumbar surgery (L5S1)and my doc combined Lft facet removal to free the nerve combined with a 'soft' fusion. (screws and rods but no plate). It may be possible to do a microdiscectomy/decompression on both sides together if combined with a fusion to stabilise it afterwards.
