Hi CindyLou,
I had this problem. At first I thought it was a lack of Calcium, which can cause Charly-horse spasms. However, I have been going to see a Naturopathic (sp?) Dr. and she tested me for mineral deficiencies. I was very low in Magnesium. She put me on total of 2-4 grams (2,000mg to 4,000mg) of Magnsium Citrate (the easiest form to digest)in 2-3 doses a day. Take the highest amount you can handle without causing diareah. Also Magnesium binds with Calcium so the body can use. Not only did this help with my nightly foot cramps, it has also been a big help at lowering my other pain problems. Hope it works for you.
