An angel sent me this today.

Dear Charit Investigators:

It's always a pleasure to let everyone know when good things happen. Today, Aetna, one of the nation's largest health insurers, has determined that the Charit Artificial Disc is medically necessary for spinal arthroplasty in skeletally mature persons with degenerative disc disease at one level from L4 to S1 who have failed as least six months of conservative care. This should make preauthorizations for patients with Aetna policies much easier to obtain.
You can view Aetna's policy at http://aetna.com/cpb/data/CPBA0591.html

Make that 3 for UHC, right now I'm being drawn out in their appeals dept. They tell you 15 days, but wait a week and 1/2 before entering it into their system. Then when you call, they tell you 30 days......

I tried calling Care coordination to find out if they are in the process of updating their policy on ADR like Aetna, but I could have gotten more help from a brick.....
