Does anyone here have experience with thorasic procedures? Last sunday an old injury bit me bad. (mris on web site show the discs and fracture). I bent over to lift a bulking item, not heavy just large. When I got it to my chest my mid back went with such a bang that I collapsed to the floor and was down for five minutes. My wife almost freaked when she found me there. I hadn't hurt like that since the initial injury, howling, writhing, hard breathing... I was begging God to not go thru this again... Heavy meds Sunday & Monday. I am up and around but Very fragile.
I hope to get in for an MRI soon.

I havn't found much on the web and wonder if there are any other thorasic spineys out there.

sidenote: the ADs are doing great. Kinda wonder if all the new movement in my LB put new loads on the old injury.

Scott

Makes sense. Check some Dano threads for this question. Take it easy on yourself AND your wife!

Scott... sorry you are going through this.

I have almost no experience with thoracic issues. I have some occasional pains that all my docs have said are thoracic problems and are very common. It involves occasional pain across my mid back... just takes my breath away it's so intense, but it is not a 10... just a 9... and it's very short lived. After I get it, I can cause increased pain by taking a deep breath. After a minute or 2 it's gone.

My experience is nothing like yours. Good luck... keep us posted.

Mark

PS. Dr. Regan is huge in thoracic surgery. I'm asking him to do a thoracic session at the NY seminar.
