Good small paperback for use in Germany. Haper Collins, "Language Survival Guide Germany". There are pictures explaining the signs you will find for ATM's, Transportation, Menues, etc. It's easier for me to understand the signs, than just looking up a word translation.

Hey, thanks Ms Em--with all our concerns about our medical conditions, easy to forget we might actually have to navigate and communicate before and after surgery in Germany.

'Ich bin ein Berliner' won't get us anywhere except maybe a bakery
