I have a toilet which is ADA approved so it's higher than the normal toilet. I haven't had surgery but I need this now and it's probably high enough that a raised toilet seat isn't needed.

Sean:

I had the same discs done as what you are having done this week. I had thought about getting the raised seat but did not. As it turned out I did not need it.

I wish you the best of luck this week. I'm excited for you also. It's great having this option rather than a fusion.

Hi Sean
I use one now and also a "handicap" bar so my hubby doesn't have to help me on and off anymore.

Hi Sean
I used a raised toilet seat for about 2 1/2 weeks. I would definately recommend one. So much less stress on the incision and back.
I wish you you all the best for your surgery!!
Take Care

Sean,

I also am using one and will continue until everything is fused. For me, a standard toliet puts a lot of bending pressure on L5/S1.
