I live in Philadelphia, PA. I have been struggling with C-spine disc herniations at C-4-5 and C-6-7 and apparently another one is bulging at c-3. These are also indenting my spinal cord. Does anyone know the cause for these herniations. I'm not that athletic so it's puzzling. Worse than puzzling, is the constant pain and I'm not sold on spinal fusion as I've talked to too many people where it didn't work out well. Does anyone know if there's ADR in the US for c-spine herniations. If not, suggest the best place to go and approx. how much. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Hi Sherri,
Try this web site for the location of cervical adr's www.spineuniverse.com. It lists all of the clinical trials for the cervical Prodisc and I know that the FDA just recently gave the ok for direct access. If you don't fit the criteria for a single level they sometimes will do what is called a compassionate care and allow more than one level to be done. I hope you feel better. Take Care, Shermaine

Sherrie, there are several cervical ADR's in clinical trails in the US. Unfortunately, if you need more than one, you are outside the guidelines.

It may be that you only need one level. Multi-level cervical ADR overseas is a reality. Several members on this forum have gone or are about to go for multi-level cervical. Look for annapurna and Christy B... both are about to go. Linda and Ann F have recently gone.

You might want to come to my seminar in NY on May first.... there will be a session on cervical ADR. Many of the doctors who are speaking will be there the entire day.

Mark
