if I had a dollar for every car accident patient that came through our community, well, we wouldn't have this klugey discussion board application!

Car accidents are nightmares when they happen, but often, the horror continues in the months and years that follow the traumatic event. So many people in the community know this! So, please read this and try to learn from the people here. Take a few minutes to think about how to protect yourself better in your car!

This article is from 2007, but it’s an easy read. E.g., it’s important to adjust your car seat headrests properly; and if you are buying a new car, follow the links to car crash test results.

It's amazing to me that this doesn't get more attention than it does. There may be less morbidity with rear end collisions but I bet there is a ton of life altering injuries even with a little accident.

We've got so many people on this board that have "rear end car crash" in their signatures here. I have to wonder how many of those neck injuries could have been prevented with the proper headrest set ups..

Very important, thanks.

I bought a car that has excellent crash-test ratings but falls short in this regard. I hope they fix this and educate the public fast. Maybe older cars can be retrofitted but this is a wild guess.

I have a 08 Lexus RX 400h that was rated poor but, had the asterisk next to it meaning it is a recommended vehicle so, that was confusing. All-in-all a great article that needs to be read by all here. Many of us have fragile egg syndrome due to our surgeries, DDD, and other spinal issues so this is very relevant.

Thanks for posting this Richard.
