Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good primary physician in southern Orange County hopefully with experience dealing with ADR surgeons and patients. In Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna, Dana Point etc.

Hey LB!

Based on your sentence structure is there some issue that you care to share about Core?

No "problems" just moving back to CA and I need a new primary care dr. I've never lived in OC so I am looking for a recommendation and would prefer to have a dr with a comfort level with ADR patients. I'm still recovering, not off pain pills so I don't want to scare off a new dr relationship. I've also called CORE to see if they can recommend a PCP in OC.

Just hoping there's an OC resident on this board with ADR that can share a dr reference that's all

The really excellent ADR docs that I know of are all in LA - I've never heard of one in Orange County (I used to live there and my dad, sister and brother do). These are: Regan (here's the website link - http://www.spinesource.com/index.html
Delamarter - http://www.spineuniverse.com/authorbio.php?authorID=160
I believe Watkins is also supposed to be very good - I just don't personally know anyone who's had surgery by him.

I think it would be worth it for you to drive into LA if your spine is up to it. Sure hope you're doing okay...

I've also heard of Dr. Watkins and his son being fine spinal surgeons. I am from Garden Grove in Orange County. The amazing circle of life.

Good luck finding a good, qualified primary care doc. They are worth their weight in gold.

Thanks guys, I don't need a new surgeon in OC, I will still go down to Core in Encinitas if I need them for continued follow up on my Prodiscs, but I do need a regular dr for the general stuff, pain pills, and referrals to other specialists including OBGYN, reflux issues etc. So looking for locals with glowing receommendations to an internist in Orange County!

LBP,

Just saw your post. I go to a doctor who I started going to when he was at a walk-in. He moved to a practice in Mission Viejo area and I am still going to him. He is conservative and a D.O. so he knows a bit more than regular md. He is young and pleasant and has never steered me wrong.
