I am doing a lot of writing tonight.I got a call
from social security yesterday asking me for a copy of my birth certificate and tax report to complete my information with them but the lady I talked to said I was approved which is good news. It takes the pressure off of waiting to see how my recovery from my 3 level ADR turns out, meanwhile I will get some help with income and Insurance. I will keep you posted as I dont want to say to much until I get it in writing. I'm still waiting for some surgery information from Germany to submit to Kaiser to see if they are going to help me with some coverage on my previous surgery. Happy Day for people with upcoming surgeries in Germany THE EURO is 12 points lower than it was in January when I had my surgery, O WELL Take care ALL CD |

Congratulations - that is good news.
I'm waiting to see if my LT disability will be approved until I can get ADR and then see if I can go back to work in the same capacity I was in before. It's doubtful, it's a call center position and even though the immediate problem should be resolved, I have other disks in stages of deterioration and have concerns about sitting for that period of time. The LTD company, Hartford, told me I had to apply for SS disability as well. Was declined from the getgo for one type, but I have a phone interview with them on the 16th. Any suggestions?

Chuck,
Every little bit helps. I paid into disability insurance and it is the only thing keeping me alive along with some savings. If I am on it of over a year+ I will have to apply to SS too. Hope thats not the case but it could be. Nice to here good news out of our American system.

Chuxk,
Congrats on getting approved on your first application! It usually takes many people like 2-3 times before approval. I hear ya about the Euro vs the Dollar - went abroad to Vienna just over a year ago - oh well.
