I have some specific questions for anyone who had to fight for SS Disability benefits and won after going before an administrative law judge (ALJ) and probably hired an attorney

I know I've read about a few but cant remember who and cant seem to pull this info out with a simple search.

I haven't hired an attorney yet, but I am meeting for a second consultation on Monday afternoon to review my WC case before my settlement process begins. The information you receive may be useful to my situation as well. Good luck!

I utilized the services of my city's Disabled Resources Center. On first application I was awarded SSD benefits so didn't have to utilize an attorney services, however, an Advocate who later became the Director of this center was the person that assisted me with putting together my application and getting it thru.

I think one of the best resources for Social Security Issues is located below:

Disinissues website -
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Disinissues

To reach the list moderators, write to:
Disin-Admin@yahoogroups.com

This stands for "Disability Issues"

Even tho back pain is an invisable disability, failed back surgery/syndrome is listed as disabling entity with SS. I've forgotten if chronic low back pain is, tho since I've been dx'ed with failed back since failed spine surgery in '92, I remember seeing that diagnosis on list with SSD. Would have to recheck for any changes/additions..
