Forty years ago today, my husband was shot down over Vietnam. He was in an A6 Intruder and it had a Martin-Baker injection seat. The G force from that injection has damaged many a pilot's back, and today the injury is known as "Martin-Baker" syndrome. It basically pancacked the discs in the lumbar. The Martin-Baker is no longer in existance.
Hubby had a four level laminectomy about ten years ago, but still has severe pain in his back and total lack of feeling in parts of his legs. (he has had no follow up on his back problems for ten years, being ever the stoic).

"Pancaked".

I hope that your husband gets the best help possible. - Allan

Hi CQ:

What a life. You risk life and limb for your country and you get your back mangled in the process of being "saved"! Was your husband a POW?

Look forward to seeing you in NYC.
