The referral to the OSS here in San Diego was great~ the new Nurse Case Manager was with me so even if I forget what he said, she won't and is getting right on obtaining the report and moving to the next step...

He said per my CT scan, I am a candidate for the 2 level ADR.. have the discogram done just to r/o L3 also but most definately he would say do a 2 level ADR at least on L4 and L5S1, not a fusion at that level.

Paulette will love this next part, he said " I recommend Rick Delamarter"....

I then told him I had seen his partner, Dr.Bae, and he said he was sure that if he's working with Delamarter, he has to be as good as him...

Anyway, you all cannot imagine the relief I'm feeling.. now WC will have their 2nd opinion and they sent me there to get it so were planning on abidding by it I believe...

One note, you should see the "Peer Review" done on me by some QME consultant paid by WC... wow, that would have me put to sleep just about...

Ok, that's my quick note, will put up my CT report later...

I'm sooooo relieved...

Maria,

Congratulations on the great news. Will they let you see Dr D? If so I would try to schedule ASAP. He was scheduling surgeries for the ProDisc starting in April. That was his new projection of when the ProDisc would be released to the market. He has the most experience in the area at 400 disc replacements and even did his first 4 level ProDisc recently.

You have been through so much and I am glad that your WC nurse was there to hear it for herself. Way to go girl you have put up a good fight.

Paulette,
Wow! That's really something about the 4 level ADR... I wonder if I end up needing 3 levels if WC would go for it.. hope so~

I think I will still see Dr.Bae as I've seen him already ... however, I'll know more in the upcoming few weeks..

Meanwhile, I see my PM today so will tell him the good news as he's in the same office as the OSS I just saw yesterday and then proceed to get my ESI tomorrow so I can do what I have to get ready for surgery should it be happening this spring... I hope so~

The new case manager's mother had surgery with the doc I saw yesterday so I think that's how I got referred to him.. what a blessing...

Three cheers may not be enough for the progress you have made, so how about three smiles! Isn't it wonderful how you get a blessing at just the right moment. Continue to persevere and hopefully all of the details will fall into place.

Hi Mariaa,
well we've been around together for a long time now, and this looks like wonderful news that they have agreed to do your ADR (two level).

Congratulations, I'm not sure what the second opinion thing is but you've struggled for this so I'm sending warm and positive thoughts that this will be okay
Very Best Wishes
Alastair
