Hi everyone,
I am in my mid 20's, about 1 yr post ADR, and am planning to start my family soon. I was wondering if anyone out there has either had this procedure done at this age, or has had it done, and has gotten pregnant. I called Charite, and they told me that they had absolutely no research as far as the disc and pregnancy goes, so if anyone has any sort of experience, I would greatly appreciate you sharing with me. Thank you so much!

Hi Christine,

Don't know of anyone who's actually had a baby post-ADr, but we do have an expecting memeber on the forum--look here

Well we had a UK patient who had ADR with Zeegers. She asked how long she should wait prior to becoming pregnant after ADR. The answer was 12 months. Lorraine no longer posts here because this is about four years on. Whether she has become pregnant I don't know.

We did have someone else who asked the same question and they were told three months after ADR -- -- -- I never knew the outcome of that either. I would think that 12 months post ADR you should be fine even for a caesarean section. If in doubt check with your specialist may be.
Best,
Alastair

There is a post by Jenn who is currently pregnant and is a post ADR. Her post is in the Arthroplasty section under 6mos post ADR and pregnancy...I think???

I'm 25 and really would love to carry on with my life too when I'm post ADR and would love to start a family when I'm back on my feet.
